The thread throughout my career is of a builder and game changer. I get great satisfaction working with people to create and implement new ideas.
I built a career stepping into new situations, quickly sizing up issues and opportunities, bringing a new perspective and inventing new ways of doings things, then executing on them.  
Typically I have made a significant impact within 3 months, resulting in major sustainable results. One example: I was hired as a senior executive with The Walt Disney Company at the inception of a Disney division. Disney products sold at retail grew twenty-fold to more than $1.5 Billion. 
I have board experience with several companies, universities, and non-profits. 

Career Expertise

With more than 30 years’ expertise leading teams to breakthrough results, I held senior management, new business initiatives, marketing and finance positions at The Walt Disney Company, PepsiCo, Hasbro, Mars & Co., the University of Southern California, and Laureate Education. 
​I have worked in both for profit and non-profit sectors, as well as start-ups and small companies.  
In my corporate and academic career, some areas I am known for are seeing strategies and opportunities before others do, building and inspiring teams, significantly increasing outcomes and results at universities, launching and building businesses and organizations bringing new products and services to market, and creating and positioning brands in Fortune 100 companies.

Global Experience and Education

​I managed markets in the United States, Latin America and Europe. I lived 20 years in Europe (France) and Latin America (Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Colombia). I'm fluent in Spanish and Portuguese and almost fluent French.
I'm a graduate of the Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania, Université de Grenoble.

Sectors where I previously had not worked hired me to bring in new ideas, build and inspire teams, then execute and ensure results. Personal Interests

​I'm passionate about education, both Higher Education and K-12. I am an expert in technology enhanced learning, particularly online / distance learning. I have worked, consulted or volunteered in several educational institutions. 
The Arts are an important part of my life. I studied architecture before business, have been a serious photographer and painter for years, and served on the board of several arts oriented institutions. I really learned to understand and appreciate movies in a whole new way while living in Los Angeles, surrounded by experts in the business.
Adventures: I spent 6 months on a sailboat ocean passage as crew. Skied over 120 days in one year while attending the Université de Grenoble. Been through several major hurricanes and the 1985 Mexico earthquake (8.1 Richter scale)
Two great sons, both committed to non-profits, doing good and making a significant impact on the world.
